Program

The 60th PAH Health Symposium showcased research topics and explored how health services embraced diversity and working with patients, providers and health workers to build a diversity-responsive and progressive health system underpinned by collaborative research, innovative service models and technology.

As the flagship educational event for the PAH – one of Australia’s leading hospitals – and Metro South Health (MSH), the symposium delivered on its promise to provide a content-rich virtual program featuring:

  • expert clinicians and researchers presenting leading advances in speciality areas
  • ‘hot topic’ panel discussions, and
  • the popular Research Excellence Awards recognising next generation discoveries to influence the clinical space.

In 2021 the virtual program featured 19 sessions, including: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, addiction and mental health, ageing, cannabis in medicine, consumer partnering in research, COVID-19, digestive health, domestic and family violence, futuristic medicine, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation and persistent pain management, surgery, transgender and gender-diverse healthcare and work-life balance.
